Chess Vision Clubs
Train your brain! Chess Vision is where kids have fun, learn and play chess. By providing opportunities for junior chess players through clubs, camps, tournaments, groups and private instruction Chess Vision hopes to help children learn skills that will reward them for the rest of their life.

MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Achievement)
Get the support you need for math and science-based studies that will prepare you for college and beyond. Advisors will work with you to not only get the help you need for your classes, but help in your study skills and SAT preparation. Through MESA, you´ll have access to a counselor, specific workshops, college career preparation, and various competitions and much more.

SMILE: Science & Math Investigative Learning Experiences
Make many friends and have fun learning about the world around you through fun science activities, trips, competitions, and more. From elementary school through high school, SMILE will provide a group of like-minded friends and open up doors to places you´ve never thought of going.

Intel Computer Clubhouse
The Intel Computer Clubhouse, located at the Beaverton Police Activities League (PAL), is a model after-school learning environment with a community of young people and adults who create, invent, and explore together using the latest in computer technology. At the Clubhouse young people have complete access to high-end computers and software to help them create projects, gain self-confidence, and to find their niche.

4-H Tech Wizards
Calling all Latino youth! Web Wizards is now Tech Wizards. Not only has the name changed, but they've added GPS (Global Positioning Systems) and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology to bring you well into the 21st century. At Tech Wizards, you can get computer and web skills from professional latino adults. You´ll gain great life skills and preparation for a professional career. Web Wizards also gives you a chance to give back to your community. For the high school students, as you learn from your mentors and gain computer skills, you can then begin being a role model for younger middle school students. You can also donate your time at local libraries by providing assistance to mono-lingual Latino parents.

Don't miss the action when high school robotics teams converge on OMSI for a day of mechanical madness at the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) regional competition, Hot Shot! Get an up-close look as two teams of robots race to move 9'' plastic balls into different goals around the playing field. Admission to the event is free, but it does not include admission to OMSI.

Spend Presidents Day at A.C. Gilbert's Discovery Village, investigating science and celebrating A.C. Gilbert's birthday! The Village will be full of intriguing experiments and amazing demonstrations, all free with admission!
February 27, 2010 Oregon FIRST Tech Championship Practice/Inspection Day
FTC teams who are participating in the state competition on Sunday, the 28th, must have their robots inspected. This will also be a great opportunity to practice with their robots.

The public is invited to attend the 2009 FTC state championship competition at South Meadows Middle School in Hillsboro, Oregon to witness the best in Oregon compete in this year's challenge: Hot Shot! Get an up-close look as two teams of robots race to move 9-inch plastic balls into different goals around the playing field.
